Traditional Hammam & Massage in Agadir

The hammam is one of Morocco's most important cultural and wellness institutions — a ritual of cleansing, steam, and communal relaxation that Moroccans have practised for centuries. This experience introduces you to the authentic version, not a tourist-adapted shortcut. Your session begins in the steam room, where the heat opens the pores and softens the skin. The hammam attendant then applies savon beldi (traditional black soap made from olives) across the entire body and uses a kessa mitt — a rough exfoliating glove — to remove dead skin in long, firm strokes. The results are immediately visible and tactile: skin feels genuinely renewed. The exfoliation is followed by a rinse and then an extended full-body massage using argan oil — Morocco's liquid gold, pressed from the kernels of the argan tree that grows almost nowhere else on earth. The massage uses traditional Moroccan techniques: deep, rhythmic, and focused on points of tension. The full session takes approximately 2 hours and leaves you in the kind of state that requires nothing more than a glass of mint tea and a comfortable place to sit.
